Trying them out!

Hello!

It’s Catrina here and I’m sorry that I haven’t posted for a while –  we’ve all been at school, work and we’ve all just been enjoying the new boards and canoes. 🙂

THE FIRST TIME I WENT ON A CEDER STRIP PADDLE-BOARD:

I was coming home from school and my dad was paddling towards me.  I was wearing my school sports uniform so my dad came to the edge of the dock and he stepped off and I stepped on.

I was not very nervous at first so I got on and pushed the dock so I’d float into the middle of the water.  I admit it was a bit wobbly at first but it was extremely easy to get the hang of.  I paddled up and down and the board was really fast and streamline.  I got so relaxed and used to the board so I actually tried some yoga moves!  I never fell in and the boards were so easy to turn and manoeuvre.  It was swift and turned so easily that I never actually crashed into anything! :p

THE FIRST TIME I WENT ON A CEDAR STRIP CANOE:

It was quite a windy day and I went on with one of my neighbours – the daughter of Martin, the man who bought the first canoe and paddle board – and we had both never tried to go on a canoe like this before.  It was extremely fun and we weren’t amazing at canoeing so we just went around the marina.  We ALMOST crashed but luckily we didn’t!

THE SECOND TIME I WENT ON A CEDAR STRIP CANOE:

The second time was A LOT easier.  It wasn’t as windy and the turns were easy and the canoe was very fast. It was SO fun and I’m looking forward to going on it again tomorrow as well as the paddle boards!

Honestly, I thought that I’d like the paddle boards much better than the canoes but I actually really like the canoe as well!!!

Bye!

A little background info :)

Hi!

It’s Catrina here again!  I just thought that I should make a little post telling you guys about how we got the idea and who we actually are.

Who we are:

I (Catrina) am 11 years old and I am the youngest in the family. My brother is called Calvin and he’s 16. My mums name is Pat or Patcharin. My dad (the creator and the person who came up with making this company) is called Graham. He’s the founder of Paddle Sports Thailand. Also, we have the cutest dog called Daisy. She’s a border collie and we got her from a farm. She will be 5 years old in January 2015!

How did we come up with the idea of making Paddle Sports Thailand?

My dad has ALWAYS loved canoeing and kayaking etc and we always had fun family times in the water.

We were in Thailand and my dad had just bought a shophouse. We later learned that they were building a lagoon next to the shophouse and my dad thought it would be great to do some paddle sports there! Then he got the idea to build the most beautiful cedar strip canoes and we turned the house into a shop and that’s going to open early in the new year 2016!

By the way, we all got roles assigned and I’m in charge of the fun things: designing the shop/cafe and I’m in charge of the blog!  We’re all really excited about this and I’ll make sure that I make new blog posts updating you on everything that’s happening. 🙂

Bye!

We’re opening a shop in Hua Hin Thailand!

Hello everyone!

My name is Catrina Kean (I’m 11 years old) and I am the daughter of Graham – the guy who created this site and these beautiful canoes – and I am just letting you know that we are opening a shop in Hua Hin which is in Thailand and we are all very excited!

I am going to be designing the shop and it is going to be a small café as well as a canoe shop!

The shop will be opening early in the New Year (2016) and will be selling canoes, kayaks, and stand up paddleboards (also known as SUP’s).

Paddle Sports Thailand is a small family business where everybody (me, my brother and my parents) are working together to create some very special floating works of art. 🙂

We really hope that you all like the things we are going to be selling!  Also, we’re selling TIWAL Sailing Dinghies – just search http://www.tiwal.com or click on the link to go and check out all of the cool things there!

Bye!
